Qatar was one of the major pearl trader countries in the world before Japan introduced more affordable pearls to the globe, just before the oil boom in Qatar. The design of the island is also referring to a string of pearls.

The Pearl Qatar is a man-made island off the West Bay coast. It is also known as the “Arabian Riviera” . Along with being home to top luxury brands, there are also Mediterranean style, yacht-lined marinas, residential towers, villas and hotels. There are cafes and restaurants for each taste from high-level dining experience to cafes to drink coffee.
