Bahrain has been a cradle for different cultures throughout the history. It is one of the most modern countries in the Middle East. Most educated people in Arab region are live in Bahrain, because education is mandatory and free in the country. Although the official language is Arabic in Bahrain, most of the residents can speak English. You may see Bahraini people who speak in English to each other in every corner of the country. Most important national newspapers in the country are Al-Ayam in Arabic and The Gulf Daily News in English. There are several attraction points in this little island country.
Qalat Al-Bahrain
Qalat al Bahrain is the country’s biggest and oldest historical attraction point. It is the most important symbol of Manama, which is situated from 4 kilometers in the North. Qalat al Bahrain was added to World Culture Heritage List in 2005.
Bahrain National Museum
You can have a journey to Bahrain’s 6000 years history in the museum. There are 9 art galleries in the museum from Islamic Era to handicrafts of the country. Bahrain National Museum is a magnificent post-modern construction, which was opened in November 1988.
Al-Fatih Mosque
Al-Fatih Mosque is one of the biggest mosques in the world. It is the most important and most famous sanctuary in the country. In contrast to other mosques in the Middle East, Al-Fatih Mosque is a modest mosque since there is no room for vanity in Islam.
Arad Fort
Arad Forth was built in 15th century. It is a typical Islamic fort, which is situated in the second biggest city of Bahrain, Muharaq.
Beit Al Quran
Beit Al Quran is the one of the most important museums in the Manama Region of Bahrain. Manuscripts of Quran are exhibited in the museum. There are mosque, school, library and an auditorium in the museum.
Museum of Pearl Diving
Before the oil resources were found in Bahrain, pearl was the most important economic item in the country. In Museum of Pearl Diving, you will witness the story of pearl. You can also see the tools, which are being used in pearl diving process in the museum.
Bab-Al-Bahrain
Englishmen constructed Bab Al-Bahrain in 1945. Bab Al Bahrain means the Door of Bahrain in English. It was re-organized in the scope of Islamic architecture in 1986.
